You’ve heard that small businesses are the backbone of America—but what does that really mean?

To some, it means that small businesses account for
nearly half of the private U.S. workforce.1

Still, others understand that almost half of U.S. economic activity comes from small businesses.2

To us, being a small business means kindness and generosity to our neighbors. It’s knowing that when one small business fails, we all fail, because we are all part of the same community. So when our NH community was suffering from COVID-19, we harnessed our entrepreneurial American spirit and created One-to-One, an initiative for local businesses to help other local businesses.

THE CONCEPT IS SIMPLE, BUT POWERFUL:

THE CONCEPT IS SIMPLE, BUT POWERFUL:

Find a way to help your favorite local business during these uncertain times. They may need sponsorship for an upcoming virtual event or technical support for remote employees—it could be anything! Those of us at Alkemy Partners (Amherst, NH) are sponsoring an outdoor tent at LaBelle Winery (Amherst, NH) for one month, so they can offer safe outdoor dining to customers. In kind, LaBelle Winery is creating a list of nearby businesses’ needs to share with employees, friends, and families. Together, we are making a One-to-One difference in our community, and your business can, too.

#OneToOneChallenge

Are you ready to make a One-to-One difference in your community?
Small businesses have so many needs right now—and we’re
challenging other local businesses to help meet one.

1 – CHOOSE A LOCAL BUSINESS.

Pick your favorite catering company, friendly local banking service, or the best coffee in town—any business in your community that needs help right now.

2 – ASK THEM WHAT THEY NEED.

Give them a call or reach out on social media. If they need sales in the form of purchased goods or services, consider ordering a takeout lunch for your employees. Or, they could need cleaning supplies to keep their business safe or volunteers to continue offering their low-cost service. Focus on giving that will help a business get back on their feet.

3 – PASS IT ON.

Share your One-to-One contribution on social media using #OneToOneChallenge to inspire other businesses to spark kindness in their own communities.
